Holding tight to FU’EN’s dead body, FENGSHEN-YINDE returns to the palace to make an audience with JIAQING, who also shares his grief. CHANG MEI has a surprise discovery while praying for the late FU’EN by lighting a lamp. GULUN PRINCESS HEXIAO is out of her mind due to the loss of her son, and she even scolds JIAQING because he didn’t hesitate to sacrifice all his close family members to unscrupulously achieve his goals, to which JIAQING can’t help feeling regretful. Drawing a lesson from this, HESHEN goes to the headquarters of Canal Trade Gang and wants to meet their mysterious leader. Out of the blue, FUCHANG’AN appears to capture HESHEN. Despite imprisonment, silver-tongued HESHEN still tries to convince FUCHANG’AN. GU CHUAN tells the leader of Canal Trade Gang things about HESHEN. Just as the leader is concerned that HESHEN might be up to something, HESHEN shows up calmly.
