Sai requests Kulkarni to allow them a few more days to repay the loan which Sumati’s father had taken from him, but Kulkarni rejects this request. He declares that Sumati’s entire family will serve as bonded labourers till the repayment of the debt. Meanwhile, Ashok, Sumati’s younger brother, is worried about his studies. What will Sai do now to help this family?
