Trading Spaces tackles suburbia this week. In Alpharetta, Georgia, our team is challenged to create an entire room around one piece of furniture — a dining room table built by the homeowner. Hilda Santo-Tomas brings her elegant style to this dining room, using unique paint techniques and funky fabrics. Next door, a home office-slash-guest room is getting some much-needed help from guest designer Roderick Shade. A permanent desk area is built and a bay window is turned into a sleeping alcove.
