Episode 1: Transition to Fatherhood

Jun 16, 2020

As a fairly new dad myself (Abe Andrews) and knowing many in this season also, I have seen first hand the internal and also external struggle to know how to navigate life as a new dad. I think that it is okay to be a bit unsure how to balance it all and adjust to this new life. I think it is an important conversation to have and we should be more open about the realities of becoming a dad for the first time, I think it will mean a healthier outcome for everyone.

Episode 2: Perseverance

Jun 23, 2020

Life is not always straight forward. It can throw us a lot of curve balls and it is up to us to decide how we are going to manage those situations. Every decision we make leads us to where we are today. When things get hard, that is not the time to give up, blame or avoid. Everyone has the ability to be successful in a chosen area of life despite challenges. It is not our talents, IQ, or socioeconomic status that determines success. Having grit, that tenacity to persevere (despite the obstacles) towards a long term goal you are passionate about, is what ultimately leads to success and greater joy in life. Jo Bouris and Sarah Harriott are joined by Lize Andrews to discuss perseverance with special guests Olympic swimmer Daniel Smith and singer Tarryn Stokes.

Episode 3: Surrendering to Motherhood

Jun 30, 2020

With postnatal depression and difficulty adjusting to motherhood being so prevalent amid the pressures of modern culture, this topic aims to normalise the common experiences (eg loneliness, inadequacy) so many women face. From initiating this conversation, it is my hope that women will adopt the approach of surrendering to this phase of life while letting go of previous expectations of themselves as they navigate mum life instead of struggling to maintain all of their pre-existing roles.

Episode 4: Mastering Your Mind

Jul 7, 2020

The power of mastering your mind lies in the daily choice to discipline what you allow to influence you, and what you accept as truth. The story of your life is told not only by what happens to you, but is the perspective you hold towards what happened to you, and how you view yourself because of it. When we can learn to harness our minds' potential, we have the power to transform our lives.

Episode 5: Boundaries in Relationships

Jul 14, 2020

In life we are called to love one another selflessly, and give without conditions, but where do we draw the line and how do we recognise the limits of our responsibility? What do we do when we are hurting in a relationship, or if it's drawing precious energy from the other important areas of our life? Just as we set property lines around our land, we need to set mental, physical, emotional and spiritual boundaries in our life. Setting healthy boundaries can feel uncomfortable and even create guilt, but learning this skill is essential for healthy relationships, good mental health, and ultimately, our freedom and peace.

Episode 6: Burn Out

Jul 21, 2020

Have you ever felt like you have reached the end of your capacity, that your tanks have completely run dry, and that a few nights of good sleep or a holiday won't fix it? Burnout is a state of emotional, physical, and mental exhaustion, caused by excessive and prolonged stress, and it is estimated that almost a third of our population have experienced this condition at some point in their career. Individuals in burnout experience a reduced sense of accomplishment, a loss of personal identity, an inability to cope with ongoing demands, and are at higher risk of significant mental illness and health complications. In a world that glorifies long hours and accomplishment, and with constant expectations of 'being on' in the digital space, recognising signs of burnout, and playing the 'long-game' more often, are important keys to protect our wellbeing and prevent a damaging crash and burn.

Episode 7: Build Courage for the New

Jul 28, 2020

Ever felt a calling to pursue a new direction for your life but fear, uncertainty and self-doubt held you back? Creating a new path for our lives can be daunting, it takes strength and courage. In this episode we'll explore how to overcome fear and find the courage to forge a new path. We'll discuss the challenge and joy of stepping out of our comfort zone, being vulnerable and choosing the life we believe is right for us.

Episode 8: Intentional Joy

Aug 4, 2020

In this topic, we explore the ways we can create and sustain a joyful life no matter our current circumstances. If you feel you're lacking excitement for life or are desperate to experience deep fulfilment each day, this topic is for you as it encourages each one of us to reflect on our life goals and intentionally cultivate a life we love for ourselves and our family.

Episode 9: Stand for Justice

Nov 17, 2020

We know that it is important to be aware of the injustices facing our world right now and become a part of the solution. In this episode we talk with Nerilee Sowter from Destiny Rescue about her experiences in the fight against human trafficking.

Episode 10: Choosing Forgiveness

Nov 24, 2020

Forgiveness is an act of letting go of the things that we hold onto which trigger negative emotions and reactions such as offense, pain and blame. In this episode Christine Thomas shares her story of finding the strength to forgive amidst tragedy.

Episode 11: The Pursuit of Passion

Dec 1, 2020

Pursuing a passion takes determination and steadfast commitment to give it your best even in the moments when the future is unclear. It's important to remember that the outcome isn't where the most passion is found, but rather in the journey. Someone who has stuck it out is professional surfer Reef Heazlewood who joins us to talk about his committed pursuit of passion.

Episode 12: Time to Celebrate

Dec 8, 2020

Taking time to evaluate and value life's significance moments is one of the most valuable tools we can learn to see us flourish and enjoy our day to day lives. We're joined by Karolina Gunsser who has discovered the fruit of deliberately celebrating the significant moments in life for herself and her family.
