Mabeste is about two orphans who live together in a house left to them by their parents who died in a road accident. The older orphan Flash D quits his employment in order to venture into music full time but his dreams of making it big are put in jeopardy when he involves himself with a dishonest music producer called Joy Mapenzi, who takes advantage of his naivete. His younger sister Mishi, a university student, and whom he is a guardian to has a rebellious streak and does not make life any easier for him.
