While on tour Annie will use stand-up as the vehicle to explore the cultural differences and (sometimes surprising) similarities in the contemporary Asian comedy scene. With just 72 hours in each location, Annie enjoys the sights and learns from well-known local comedians about what it takes to break into their scene. As she prepares for her own set, Annie finds out what makes locals laugh - the unique cultural reference points, the mostly unwritten comedy rules, and the things you should never say – and what happens when you bomb in a place that isn’t your home. Filmed across four international cities, this one-hour ABC Australia documentary gives audiences a unique 'fly on the wall' insight into the Stand-Up Comedy scene in the region.
