血癌是兒童癌病中，最普遍的一種癌病。香港每個月有五名兒童因癌病逝世，當中有三成便是血癌患者。一九八八年六月六日，周太（周胡逸雲）獲醫生告知，兩歲半的兒子「噹噹」（Donovan）患上血癌，自此周太全心全力照顧「噹噹」，並希望兒子能盡快康復。照料兒子期間，周太性格變得孤僻，直至一次向神父分享不幸的遭遇而釋懷，並決心為了兒子去幫助更多受痛苦煎熬的癌病兒童。
