Twelve comedians will then be selected to attend “Laughter Class”, where they will be put through their paces and trained in all genres of comedy from stand-up to panto performance by a host of industry experts. Six of the comics will then be selected to take part in a live stand-up show, also to be staged at the Gaiety on a date to be confirmed. The acts will be judged on the night by the live audience and a celebrity panel, with the winner receiving a prize – including supporting Jim Davidson on one of his shows on his live tour. The entire series will be filmed exclusively for Ustreme.

It’s Day One of Ustreme’s Laughter Class and time for our nine successful candidates from the auditions to be put through their paces by heavyweights of the comedy and entertainment industry to see who really has what it takes to make it. Actor and performing legend Christopher Biggins teaches our “students” the art of perfecting a panto performance and taking an audience along for the ride, while professional comedy coach and chief mentor, Nik Coppin, puts them on the spot with weird and wacky exercises to find new ways of creating stand-up material.

Episode 5: Classes Part Three

it's the third and final day of Ustreme's 'Laughter Class' and head coach Nik Coppin is giving a lecture on editing jokes, to make them as quick and as funny as possible. Jim Davidson teaches the classmates about sound checks and creating their own 'warm rosy glow' and the classmates take part in a stand-up challenge, making jokes about topics being shouted out by their peers.

It all comes down to this! Join Nik Coppin as he hosts the final of 'Laughter Class'. Judged by Miles Crawford, Garry Bushell and Victoria Nash, the finalists showcase their sets in full to a live audience. All with one hope, to be crowned the winner. Part one includes Sam Chant, Paula Woolven, Paul Barton, Kevin McDonnell and Stephen Dodd.

It all comes down to this! Join Nik Coppin as he hosts the final of 'Laughter Class'. Judged by Miles Crawford, Garry Bushell and Victoria Nash, the finalists showcase their sets in full to a live audience. All with one hope, to be crowned the winner. Part two includes Richie Rands, Lee Goode, Desmond Feehily and Pat Smith.
