Each day, two kindhearted suburban stepbrothers on summer vacation embark on some grand new project, which annoys their controlling sister, Candace, who tries to bust them. Meanwhile, their pet platypus plots against evil Dr. Doofenshmirtz.

The pilot episode, which eventually became "Rollercoaster", contains colored storyboards, temporary music and sound effects, and completed voice lines that are mostly left unchanged in the final episode with a few deleted lines. It also contains a few similarities with the original story bible, such as the characters having their initial color schemes and Doofenshmirtz being called Middleschmirtz. Only the last minute and fifteen seconds are fully animated.
