In the late 1980s and early 1990s, Winona Ryder appeared in several acclaimed and zeitgeist-grabbing films, including Edward Scissorhands, Little Women and Reality Bites, but being so closely associated with a specific cultural moment made it hard for her to stay in the spotlight into the 2000s.
